Great season three finale of “White Collar” this week, filled with great twists and the seasons most intense chase. Turns out the reason Agent Kramer has been digging up dirt on Neal is because he wants him to come to Washington and work for him indefinitely. The stolen Raphael that has been featured throughout the series is finally recovered in a great nail-biting chase sequence that has Neal leaping from passing Roosevelt Island trams. Peter and Sara don’t want Kramer taking Neal away and do whatever they can to make sure Neal isn’t in possession of the stolen painting. Neal visits a grandmother type figure from his past and we get a glimpse into his adolescence. With the exception of Jones everyone tells the committee that Neal should have his sentence commuted. Even Peter backs Neal who has grown to become more of a partner than a prisoner. Before we could find out what the committee has decided Kramer shows up determined to take Neal into custody. Peter signals Neal with nod and just like that Neal disappears. Turns out Mozzie stashed away some of the treasure and Neal cuts his anklet and the two take off. There is a tear in Neal’s eye as they fly away but it is quickly replaced with a sly smile and I bet he will be back next season. Until then I have my DVR set to record.
Intense episode of “Southland” this week that includes stabbing, biting, a near miscarriage, and a swastika loving birthday boy named Adolph! Due to a department shortage Lydia is put on the streets as a sergeant. The extra physical demands almost cause her to have a miscarriage and make it harder for her to keep the pregnancy a secret. It seems that the honeymoon is over for partners Sammy and Sherman, after Sherman falsely accuses Sammy of planting evidence. Great twists with this storyline that end up revealing how Sherman really feels about Sammy. Not sure the pair will be able to return to their bromance and prank wars. Cooper and Tang are forced to ride with a reality TV crew. They accidentally cause a woman to get stabbed, give a father on his way to a job interview a break, and help a bakery deal with an upset customer that wants a Nazi themed birthday cake for his son. Things really heat up when after arriving on the scene of a fight Cooper is attacked by a crazy juice head bites through his neck. Great scene where the reality camera man does nothing to help Cooper from being attacked and is determined to catch the whole thing on film. This series gets better each week and this weeks cliffhanger was especially thrilling. “Southland” airs on TNT Tuesday at 10pm. I for one have my DVR set to record.
Things got a little weird this week in Harlan county as Raylan gets mixed up with organ thieves. Dewey Crowe wakes up in a bath tub with scars where his kidneys are and is told that he will soon die a horrible death unless he gets enough money to buy back his kidneys. This sends Dewey on a frantic crime spree to try to buy back his taken organs. Raylan finds out what is happening and tracks down Dewey proving to him that he has been fooled and his kidneys were never removed in the first place. Meanwhile Boyd tracks down Quarles for their first encounter. He calls him out for being a “carpetbagger” and it is clear that the two of them wont be working together anytime soon. Limehouse tells one of his men that he lied to Dickie about how much is left of Bennett fortune but refuses to tell him where it is hidden. It is also revealed that Limehouse has an informant keeping him posted on what is happening with Boyd and Quarles. After catching Dewey, Raylan tracks down a nurse he met earlier in the episode who he now realizes is involved with the organ harvesting. While confronting her he gets jabbed in the neck with a needle by her partner Lance and quickly becomes sedated. This seems to bother the nurse Layla who shoots lance and is then killed by Raylan before she can kill him. Raylan seems to have some trouble dealing with killing a woman, but there is more for him to worry about when he goes home and Winona is gone leaving only a note. Can’t wait for the next episode to find out what the note said. Another fantastic episode of this great series filled with some of the best characters on TV. “Justified” airs Tuesday 10pm on FX. I for one have my DVR set to record!
Awesome episode of “Fringe” this week, that takes Fringe division to a small Vermont town where everyone is going crazy. The team gets trapped in Westfeild which is colliding with the Westfeild from the other universe. The collision of the universes causes the residents to merge and become confused murderous lunatics. The team figures out that it is baddie David Robert Jones who is responsible for merging the universes and ultimately destroying both Westfeilds. This seems like just the beginning for Jones who still has a lot of amphilicite, the power source used to join the universes. I hope we get some answers this season on why he is so hell-bent on merging the universes. The big revelations this week is that Olivia now remembers Peter! That’s right, it seems that Peter may be in the right universe after all and is not misplaced but for some reason forgotten. Can’t wait to find out what the Observers have to do with all this and when everyone else os going to start remembering Peter. This show is so great it kills me that it has such low ratings and seems to always be at risk of being canceled. Things are going to be getting real interesting and I highly urge you to tune in. “Fringe” airs Friday’s at 9pm on FOX. I for one have my DVR set to record!
After watching the latest episode of FOX’s “Alcatraz” I am both more confused and intrigued. The latest inmate to appear in the future is Cal Sweeney, a bank robber who only steals safety deposit boxes. Eric Johnson does a great job as Sweeney and I hope to see more of him in the series and in general. What we learn this week in “Alcatraz” really just brings up more questions, why are the convicts returning to get the keys? who or what is in the cell beneath Alcatraz? and basically what the hell is going on? So far four inmates have made their way to the future and all seem just as confused as the audience. During a flash back scene we learn that Lucy Banerjee (who is still in a coma in 2012) planned on experimenting with the inmates memories, and perhaps that is why she was shot and while the inmates have no idea where they have been. Next week the first guard appears in 2012 and Robert Forester returns to the series. So far I am hooked on “Alcatraz” and really enjoy the stories taking place both in the present and in the past. “Be sure to check out this great series that is like nothing else on TV. “Alcatraz” air Monday’s 9pm on Fox, I for one have my DVR set to record!
This week on “White Collar,” Neal and Peter go undercover at an elite Manhattan prep school to thwart an embezzlement plot. Guest star Dylan Baker plays the bad guy who is stealing the schools scholarship money. Daker is alway great, not really a scary bad guy unless you have seen Todd Solondz’s “Happiness” and are freaked out he is in a school. Neal finds himself undercover as an english teacher and not only saves the day but also plays Cupid (with the help on Mozzie) to two teenage star-crossed lovers. Neal does a bit of sucking up to Peter hoping he wont “tell the whole truth” about the treasure (which he doesn’t.) Neal seems genuinely happy with his life and really cares about Peter, whether Peter will accept him as a partner and not a criminal is yet to be seen. “White Collar” continues to be a clever show with really fun cons. Really looking forward to seeing where both Peter and Neal’s relationship and the season goes. “White Collar” airs Tuesday 10pm on USA, I for one have my DVR set to record!
The “Real World/Road Rules Challenge” is back for its twenty-second season and this time it’s a “Battle of The Exes”. This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures and am psyched that for this season MTV has teamed up couples from past seasons. That’s right all your favorite train wreck relationships are forced not only to live in the same house but to work together as a team. Among the exes teamed together are, law-breaker Abram with free spirit Cara Maria, brawler CT with cancer survivor Deim, old man Mark with slutty Robin, Lesbians Anessa and Rachel, obnoxious Wes with prissy Mandi, misogynistic Johnny with forgettable Camila and a bunch of other RW/RR retards. I a rooting for CT and Deim, both to win and to get back together. Their relationship looks to be a focal point of the season and the awkwardness of pairing them together is sure to make for great TV. Not a lot of surprises in the first episode other than host TJ Lavin still being alive. Wes is still a douche, a rookie team gets sent home first, and the casts biggest challenge is not getting black out drunk. The season takes place in Dominican Republic and at some point moves to Iceland. Each episode ends with two teams competing in a “Mad Max” type dome, where the loser goes home. One big change this season is that the winner of that weeks challenge becomes “The Power Couple” and decides who battles the loser in the dome. “The Challenge: Battle of The Exes” airs Wednesday 10pm on MTV, I for one have my DVR set to record!
