Intense episode of “Southland” this week that includes stabbing, biting, a near miscarriage, and a swastika loving birthday boy named Adolph! Due to a department shortage Lydia is put on the streets as a sergeant. The extra physical demands almost cause her to have a miscarriage and make it harder for her to keep the pregnancy a secret. It seems that the honeymoon is over for partners Sammy and Sherman, after Sherman falsely accuses Sammy of planting evidence. Great twists with this storyline that end up revealing how Sherman really feels about Sammy. Not sure the pair will be able to return to their bromance and prank wars. Cooper and Tang are forced to ride with a reality TV crew. They accidentally cause a woman to get stabbed, give a father on his way to a job interview a break, and help a bakery deal with an upset customer that wants a Nazi themed birthday cake for his son. Things really heat up when after arriving on the scene of a fight Cooper is attacked by a crazy juice head bites through his neck. Great scene where the reality camera man does nothing to help Cooper from being attacked and is determined to catch the whole thing on film. This series gets better each week and this weeks cliffhanger was especially thrilling. “Southland” airs on TNT Tuesday at 10pm. I for one have my DVR set to record.
This week “White Collar” hits the ballpark to stop the theft of Babe Ruth’s first home run ball. Tim Dekay does double duty this week not only starring as Peter but also directing his first episode of the series. Dekay does a great job as director and I look forward to him hopefully doing more of it in the future. Not only does most of the episode take place at the ballpark, but we also find out that Peter actually played baseball and was drafted by the Twins. The two learn about the plot to steal this important piece of sports memorabilia after the FBI locate Gordon Taylor, a beloved con man with no criminal record. He is a hired thief brough in to steal the ball for a wealthy sports fan. Mozzie and Neal are asked to help steal the ball and use it as the opportunity to the be the guys on the inside for the FBI. Neal impresses Taylor with his pool skills and the two are added to the crew. They steal the ball and leave a note for Peter under the stitching to where it is. The FBI recover the ball and arrest everyone involved except Taylor who is tipped off by Mozzie who is enamored by him. Meanwhile Peter is getting ready for Neal’s commutation hearing and asks Sara to be a witness on Neals behalf. Also, Agent Kramer is hell-bent on making sure Neal is not set free and finds hidden messages in old letters sent to Kate from prison. The episode ends with Neal arranging for him and Peter to have Yankee Stadium to themselves for a game of catch. A nice touching moment that the two share trying not to worry about what the outcome of the commutation hearing will be. Next week is the season finale and we will hopefully find out if Neal is done being a con-man and is now more interested in being on the opposite side of the law. “White Collar” air Tuesday 10pm on USA. I for one have my DVR set to record!
We are getting closer to finding out what the hell is going on in “Fringe” and I am loving the ride. Olivia has regained all of her memories of Peter and it seems for the time being that Peter may in fact be in the right universe. He is very reluctant at first that Olivia is in fact his Olivia. Dying to find out whether she is the real Olivia or if Massive Dynamic is behind her thinking she is. This weeks episode introduces us to a young man in a mental institution that has been suffering from schizophrenia. Good news is he is not schizophrenic rather just genetically engineered to be part of a bee like hive, and those voices in his head are actually his half brothers who will do anything to keep their secret and survive. Fringe division discovers that the boys biological father is a fertility doctor who used his own sperm to try to build a better human. The hive track down the doctor and kill him severing the voices from the once believed schizophrenic who now feels alone for the first time. Peter looks deep into Olivia’s eyes and believes her to be the Olivia he loves and the two of them kiss. Olivia then goes to use a gas station restroom and disappears?!!?!? The last scene reveals her and Nina Sharp bound in chairs and locked in a dark room. Next weeks episode claims to have major revelations about the Observers and hopefully everything else. “Fringe” air Friday 9pm on Fox. I for one have my DVR set to record!
Things got a little weird this week in Harlan county as Raylan gets mixed up with organ thieves. Dewey Crowe wakes up in a bath tub with scars where his kidneys are and is told that he will soon die a horrible death unless he gets enough money to buy back his kidneys. This sends Dewey on a frantic crime spree to try to buy back his taken organs. Raylan finds out what is happening and tracks down Dewey proving to him that he has been fooled and his kidneys were never removed in the first place. Meanwhile Boyd tracks down Quarles for their first encounter. He calls him out for being a “carpetbagger” and it is clear that the two of them wont be working together anytime soon. Limehouse tells one of his men that he lied to Dickie about how much is left of Bennett fortune but refuses to tell him where it is hidden. It is also revealed that Limehouse has an informant keeping him posted on what is happening with Boyd and Quarles. After catching Dewey, Raylan tracks down a nurse he met earlier in the episode who he now realizes is involved with the organ harvesting. While confronting her he gets jabbed in the neck with a needle by her partner Lance and quickly becomes sedated. This seems to bother the nurse Layla who shoots lance and is then killed by Raylan before she can kill him. Raylan seems to have some trouble dealing with killing a woman, but there is more for him to worry about when he goes home and Winona is gone leaving only a note. Can’t wait for the next episode to find out what the note said. Another fantastic episode of this great series filled with some of the best characters on TV. “Justified” airs Tuesday 10pm on FX. I for one have my DVR set to record!
Another stellar episode of TNT’s “Southland” this week. Ben and Sammy are locked in a prank war where nothing is off-limits. Their pranks range from a car full of birds to a fake pregnancy. Sammy is also able to convince an ex crack head to come forward about who committed a murder in his neighborhood. The former crack head ends up getting shot, but thankfully survives. Cooper celebrates 20 years on the force (22 actually), and helps save a troubled gay teen from committing suicide. Cooper also admits to the kid that he is gay and tells him that things will get better. My gaydar had not gone off for Cooper and here I was hoping he would hook up with his partner Tang. While Cooper is able to catch the kid after he jumps from a building, the kid later kills himself at the hospital. Dewey and Tang help Cooper celebrate his 20 years with drinks and tales of his adventures. Meanwhile Lydia is still hiding her pregnancy from her partner, even though he clearly knows what’s going on. The two of them solve a case involving a father who kills his son after realizing he is not right and finding both disturbing pictures on his computer and a murder kit under his bed. “Southland” airs Tuesday at 10pm on TNT. I for one have my DVR set to record.
What is it about past cast members of “The Real World” and “Road Rules” that makes then so compelling to watch? Like a trash can on fire or a youtube clip of someone being injured. The Social experiment has evolved in a way to create the most conflict possible and make back stabbing a part of the game. This week on “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” the gang all decides to paint their faces like animals and you guessed it get wasted. Robin decides to prove how awkward she is deciding to be a Vampire instead. I was happy to say goodbye to super annoying Jasmine. Not sure who this four-foot wreck of a human being thinks she is or why she is so overly cruel to her partner Tyrie, but am happy she was sent packing. The two of them got taken down by the only same-sex couple Aneesa and Rachel. The girls are sent in to the dome by Johnny and Camila whose chemistry and abilities has made them the team to beat and the Power Couple once again. It seems Johnny is still holding a grudge against Rachel from a past challenge and even gets Mark involved in all the Drama. The feuding Tyrie and Jasmine have no chance against Rachel who basically takes them both down on her own. Meanwhile the shows star-crossed lovers CT and Deim finally start to communicate and seem a bit closer ro rekindling their romance. Hopefully they will win a challenge soon, which I bet would help set off some sparks. “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” air on Wednesday at 10pm on MTV. I for one have my DVR set to record.
Awesome episode of “Fringe” this week, that takes Fringe division to a small Vermont town where everyone is going crazy. The team gets trapped in Westfeild which is colliding with the Westfeild from the other universe. The collision of the universes causes the residents to merge and become confused murderous lunatics. The team figures out that it is baddie David Robert Jones who is responsible for merging the universes and ultimately destroying both Westfeilds. This seems like just the beginning for Jones who still has a lot of amphilicite, the power source used to join the universes. I hope we get some answers this season on why he is so hell-bent on merging the universes. The big revelations this week is that Olivia now remembers Peter! That’s right, it seems that Peter may be in the right universe after all and is not misplaced but for some reason forgotten. Can’t wait to find out what the Observers have to do with all this and when everyone else os going to start remembering Peter. This show is so great it kills me that it has such low ratings and seems to always be at risk of being canceled. Things are going to be getting real interesting and I highly urge you to tune in. “Fringe” airs Friday’s at 9pm on FOX. I for one have my DVR set to record!
