With an incredible cast and a riveting story arc this season of “Justified” keeps getting better and better. In this weeks episode titled “The Man Behind the Curtain,” we finally got to learn more about Detroit lunatic Quarles (played by Neal McDonough). The man has a bad history of beating male escorts to death and has some real daddy issues with his surrogate father and top Detroit crime boss. Love Jere Burns portrayal of Wynn Duffy, Quarles reluctant number one. His mix of fear, disgust, and bewilderment really add to Quarles intimidation factor. A lot of great guest stars this week including; Jim Beaver, who will hopefully become the new sheriff in Boyd’s pocket, Max Perlich as Sammy the Detroit boss’s good for nothing son, and even Ned Ryerson himself Stephen Tobolowsky and an FBI agent pissed and Raylan. Boyd seems to have put his racist days behind him and hopes to make an ally out of Limehouse. Raylan is so determined to get Quarles out of Harlan that he barely has time to deal with Boyd, Arlo, or care about his recently departed soon tobe baby mama. At the same time Quarles is so fixated on getting Raylan out of his business that he goes searching for Winona’s ex Gary. Not sure how he plans on hurting Raylan through Gary , but one thing is for sure things do not look good for failed real estate agent. “Justified” air Tuesday 10pm on FX. I for one have my DVR set to record.
This week Tang (Lucy Liu) has a really bad day on TNT’s fantastic cop series “Southland”. After being served with divorce papers she is pissed off and determined to make everyone as miserable as she is. First by giving a guy a ticket when waiting for his wife with a broken leg and then by shooting a teen with a “toy gun”. This causes some tension with her partner Cooper who realizes that she tampered with the toy gun. Cooper is so disturbed by the whole thing that he has to see his sponsor. Meanwhile, Sammy is still pissed at Ben for questioning his integrety and isn’t ready to forgive him even though he stops a deranged, broken bottle wielding, rape victim from stabbing him. Really hope the two off them can work things out beacuse the comrodery they had was a fun aspect of the show. Lydia is not ready to let anyone know she is pregnant even though they all suspect it. Her partner Robinson (Dorian Missick) is actually starting to grow on me. It is nice to see Lydia have the same partner for more than a few episodes. It’s nice to see that he still has her back even though she wont come clean to him about the pregnancy. “Southland” airs Tuesday’s 10pm on TNT, I for one have my DVR set to record.
Great season three finale of “White Collar” this week, filled with great twists and the seasons most intense chase. Turns out the reason Agent Kramer has been digging up dirt on Neal is because he wants him to come to Washington and work for him indefinitely. The stolen Raphael that has been featured throughout the series is finally recovered in a great nail-biting chase sequence that has Neal leaping from passing Roosevelt Island trams. Peter and Sara don’t want Kramer taking Neal away and do whatever they can to make sure Neal isn’t in possession of the stolen painting. Neal visits a grandmother type figure from his past and we get a glimpse into his adolescence. With the exception of Jones everyone tells the committee that Neal should have his sentence commuted. Even Peter backs Neal who has grown to become more of a partner than a prisoner. Before we could find out what the committee has decided Kramer shows up determined to take Neal into custody. Peter signals Neal with nod and just like that Neal disappears. Turns out Mozzie stashed away some of the treasure and Neal cuts his anklet and the two take off. There is a tear in Neal’s eye as they fly away but it is quickly replaced with a sly smile and I bet he will be back next season. Until then I have my DVR set to record.
Another Skank filled episode of “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” aired this week. Paula finally gave into her jungle fever and cheated on her boyfriend with Ty. The two have been going heavy on the flirting all season but Paula kept saying it was innocent and she would never disrespect her boyfriend. Well I sure hope her BF does not have cable cause she disrespected him all over this weeks episode. Ty seems to be in love with her and sees this as the beginning of their story book romance. Hell, what better way to start a romance than by being a slut cheater on a TV reality show. Things are not looking good for CT and Deim getting back together. While I do belive that Deim wants to be back with CT, I don’t think he can forgive her for dumping him back when. The two have a huge fight and say the meanest most hurtful things to each other on a drunken ride home. Once again Johnny and Camilla are the power couple and this week they give Ty and Emily a break from the dome and send in Aneesa and Rachel. The only lesbian couple compete against Dunbar and Paula who came in last in the challenge. It is an exciting dome and in the end the lesbians are sent packing and Paula returns to the house to continue to emotionally scar her boyfriend and give him life long trust issues. We are now at the half way point in the series which means it is time for the backstabbing to really pick up. “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” airs at 10pm on MTV Wednesday. I for one have my DVR set to record!
On winter finale of “Fringe” we finally get some answers! Bad guy David Robert Jones is trying to activate Olivia’s powers by torturing Nina Sharp. Only it isn’t the real Nina, but a shape-shifting super solider. Now that Olivia has been flooded with the memories of Peter’s Olivia, she believes that she needs Peter close to her to make her powers activate. Meanwhile the Observer September shows up shot in the chest to tell Peter that Olivia needs his help. The Observer passes out and Peter convinces Walter to sync up their consciousness so he could find out where Olivia is. This is where we finally get some answers about the Observers and find out that they are evolved scientists from the future. We also find out that Peter is in fact in the wrong universe and has to get back to his where he has a child with the Olivia from his world parallel universe (confused much). It seems that Peter is very important to the universes and that is why he has interfered with their lives. He tells Peter that he is supposed to be with his Oliva and have a family and needs to go home. September that expels Peter from his mind and disappears. Peter decides that perhaps September meant home literally and goes there. One of David Robert Jones’s henchmen is there and takes Peter to Olivia. With Peter there Olivia is able to activate her powers to the max killing one of the henchmen and forcing Jones and shape shifter Sharp to escape to a parallel dimension. Before they cross over Olivia is able to fire off a shot hitting Jones but not affecting him because he has become invulnerable. Peter tells Olivia that he now realizes that she is not the one he loves and that he has to get home now more than ever. Really great winter finale and I can’t wait for “Fringe” to come back and hopefully reveal more about the mysteries of the series. I will have my DVR set to record!
Deputy U.S. Marshal may always get his man but in this weeks episode titled “When The Guns Come Out,” his ex-wife Winona gets away from him. Raylan tracks her down and confronts her for more than just a Dear John letter, but even with a baby coming she doesn’t think Raylan can be the man she needs. Thankfully “Justified” is not a soap opera and there is a lot more well written dirty deeds going down in Harlan County. Limehouse’s snitch Trixie is killed on an Oxy run by some of Quarles men. I don’t think we have yet to see how sick Quarles really is and the extent of his brutality. Boyd and Ava pay a visit to Limehouse and try a create a relationship with him and get past the horrible racism of him and his father. They find out about Trixie and go searching for her best friend a whore named Ella Mae, who witnessed the murder from under a desk. Meanwhile Raylan gets a whiff of whats going on and pissed off cause the Oxy’s were being sold out of his dead aunt’s house. He confronts Boyd, who sends him to Ava, and the two of them get past Ella Mae’s abusive douche bag pimp and find out that Tanner the one that pulled the trigger. Raylan finds Tanner selling the stolen Oxy and after some great action scenes involving a moving trailer shuts down the operation. Tanner gets away even though he is severely injured and his partner is killed. We then find out that it was one of Limehouse’s henchman who set up the whole thing in attempt to start a war between Quarles and Boyd. This pisses of Limehouse who orders his man to make things right with Trixie’s family. Things keep getting better and better on this great FX series and I can’t wait to see how it all goes down and who end up on who’s side. “Justified” airs on FX 10pm Tuesdays. I for one have my DVR set to record.
This week on my favorite guilty pleasure “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” there is a mix of sexual tension and desperation. Camilla gets super wasted (even for “Real World” standards) and totally freaks out on her teammate Johnny for not loving her as much as she loves him. The two eventually patch things up but I am sure we will see another episode from mentally unstabel Camilla before the end of the season. Ty and Paula have been going a bit to hard on the flirting for a girl with a boyfriend. Ty claims he is going to bang her adding another plot line to the season finding out just how big of a skank Paula is. Abram and Cara Maria are still having issues with Cara’s commitment issues. Things take a turn for the worse when the perform the worst at the challenge and are sent directly into the dome. Mark and nut job Robin end up winning the challange and become the power couple for the first time this season. The two decide to send dome regulars Ty and Emily in the dome which again really pisses off Emily. Cara Maria is no match to the pissed off Emily who takes her down fairly easily. While mad man Abram is able to beat Ty in the first round, Ty comes back and wins the final two. Abram and Cara Maria are sent packing to deal with their relationship issues without being manipulated by reality TV.
