With an incredible cast and a riveting story arc this season of “Justified” keeps getting better and better. In this weeks episode titled “The Man Behind the Curtain,” we finally got to learn more about Detroit lunatic Quarles (played by Neal McDonough). The man has a bad history of beating male escorts to death and has some real daddy issues with his surrogate father and top Detroit crime boss. Love Jere Burns portrayal of Wynn Duffy, Quarles reluctant number one. His mix of fear, disgust, and bewilderment really add to Quarles intimidation factor. A lot of great guest stars this week including; Jim Beaver, who will hopefully become the new sheriff in Boyd’s pocket, Max Perlich as Sammy the Detroit boss’s good for nothing son, and even Ned Ryerson himself Stephen Tobolowsky and an FBI agent pissed and Raylan. Boyd seems to have put his racist days behind him and hopes to make an ally out of Limehouse. Raylan is so determined to get Quarles out of Harlan that he barely has time to deal with Boyd, Arlo, or care about his recently departed soon tobe baby mama. At the same time Quarles is so fixated on getting Raylan out of his business that he goes searching for Winona’s ex Gary. Not sure how he plans on hurting Raylan through Gary , but one thing is for sure things do not look good for failed real estate agent. “Justified” air Tuesday 10pm on FX. I for one have my DVR set to record.
